In large scale mixed media drawing I explore raw human emotions and the delicate nature of the human connectivity. Messy, bombastic, and vibratory my ferocious mark pulsates with the tension of an emotional escapade of charcoal, pastel and acrylic, on paper or canvas, existing in noir atmospheres of a shadow space. The drawings consist of personal narratives and reflective reactions to the frenetic unsettled polarized world around me. As these works emerge from the depths of the page as portal, I become aware of the cathartic meditation of tension and release in my process as the images develop and reveal themselves to me. It is a personal excavation that is an example of acceptance and strength intended to resonate with the primal psychological and physical aspects of the temporality of existence, to suggest a commonality and thus, a greater acceptance to the cross-cultural and diversely identifying human community.
